EA FC 25: Timed Finish or Precision Shooting - Which technique is the better choice?

EA FC 25 Timed Finish oder Precision Shooting Welche Technik ist die bessere Wahl

Do you want to score more goals in EA FC 25 and utilise your chances effectively? Then you should know the two most important shooting techniques - Timed Finishing and Precision Shooting - and know when which technique is the better option.

There are many ways to score goals in EA FC 25. Two of the most effective mechanics in the game are Timed Finishing and the newer, increasingly popular Precision Shooting. In this guide, we explain how both functions work, what their advantages and disadvantages are and which strategy will benefit you the most.

What is Timed Finishing?

Timed finishing is a well-known shooting technique that can enhance your finishes. The way it works is simple: You charge your shot as usual, but as soon as the shot animation starts, you press the shot button a second time. If you press the second button at exactly the right moment - namely when your player hits the ball - a green icon will appear above the player's head. But be careful:
If you press too early or too late, red, yellow or grey icons appear to indicate that your timing was not optimal, which could be the reason why the ball missed the target. The big advantage: Timed Finishing works with all shot types - be it finesse, power shot or flat shot.

Was ist Precision Shooting?

Precision Shooting is an advanced shooting aid that gives you more control over the direction of your shots. This function must be activated in the settings by changing the shooting style from "Assisted" to "Precision".
As soon as it is activated, a white line appears when charging the shot, indicating where you are aiming. This direction depends on the left stick - and this is where the challenge lies:
You must keep the direction constant during the entire shooting animation.
When you move the stick, only the last input before your player hits the ball counts.
If you aim precisely at the post or into the corner, even the best goalkeeper will have little chance of stopping the ball - especially with long-range shots, finesse shots or angled shots.

Which technology is better - and when?

Timed Finishing:

  • Advantages: Better shots due to precise timing, versatile use.
  • Disadvantages: Difficult to time, can mess up easy chances.

Precision Shooting:

  • Advantages: Greater aiming accuracy, more control over the direction of fire.
  • Disadvantages: High error rate in tight situations, requires practice.

The ideal approach

Start with timed finishing. This technique is easier to understand but still offers a lot of depth. Once you have mastered timing, you can move on to precision shooting. The aim should be to combine both techniques in order to choose the best possible shooting option in every game situation
