All leaked info on Call of Duty: Black Ops 7
It has long been known that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be directly followed by another Black Ops game, which will largely consist of reissued maps and classic modes - in much the same way that Modern Warfare 2 was directly followed by MW3 last year, which contained remakes of older maps.
Now there are probably the first, more concrete details about the game, which is expected to be released in 2025 and will apparently simply be called "Black Ops 7".
A leaker from the CoD scene recently shared a number of details about the upcoming game, which (according to him) came from "a funny guy who somehow managed to get into a focus group meeting". Below you'll find a breakdown of the new info by mode.
Campaign
- The campaign is a covert operation set in the year 2035, with David Mason (from Black Ops 2) as the main character.
- This time the focus of the game is more on espionage, with a central theme of information warfare.
Multiplayer
- The human shield mechanism will return. But in BO7, grenades can now stick to human shields.
- Omni-motion will return, and they are also adding wall jumps.
- The game will feature classic maps and modes from the Black Ops franchise. Uplink returns, along with Face Off and the next-gen favorite Gunfight.
- A new network perk system now allows perks to be shared between players.
Zombies
- In 2025, the focus will be on turn-based gameplay.
- BO7 will have one of the biggest maps of all time in the game.
- A transportation system similar to Tranzit is added to move around the map.
- Zombies will have an 8-player mode.
We don't yet know anything about the validity of the leak, and Activision has yet to make an official statement, but all of the changes feel like updates you'd expect from the developers at Treyarch (the lead studio behind the CoD 2025 title).
