Arma 3 receives overdue performance update
The new update for Arma 3 is designed to take performance and FPS to a whole new level.
As one of the best-known and most realistic military simulations in the gaming industry, Arma 3 offers detailed war scenarios, a huge open world and an active modding community that opens up countless new possibilities in terms of gameplay and strategy.
The latest beta patch gives hope that the long-awaited multi-thread performance could be improved - to the delight of the community
More FPS, smoother gameplay and better rendering
The community has been calling for optimisation for multithreading for years, after the game had previously relied heavily on single-core performance. Although many older games achieved their FPS via the performance of individual CPU cores, games today often benefit from distribution across multiple cores.
Arma 3's latest update is designed to do just that.
This would not only affect the FPS, but would also make the gameplay much smoother.
Current player feedback
So far, the feedback from the multithreading beta testers has been predominantly positive.
An increase in performance is noticeable, especially when it comes to large, complex scenarios with a large number of AI units.
The higher frame rate ensures smoother gameplay, while the improved rendering makes the detailed landscapes appear more impressive.
On the other hand, minor bugs and stability problems caused by the beta patch are also criticised. However, Bohemia Interactive has already announced that it will make further optimisations before the update is rolled out.
