Baldur's Gate 3: This item heals like a cheat - if you can bear the disgust
A morsel from hell
In Baldur’s Gate 3 There are items that look harmless - and they are. And then there are Roasted dwarf meat: a find from the goblin camp in the first act that looks like the epitome of„No, thank you“.
Most players instinctively ignore it - too repulsive, too bizarre. But those who are familiar with the Origin character Dark desire can turn this disgusting find into a real game changer make.
Healing without borders
What makes dwarf meat so special?
- It heals 4–16 HP – comparable to a strong healing potion.
- It costs no action. No train, no bonus action, nothing.
- You can several times per round eat. Really.
This means that while other characters have to choose between attacking and healing, you can simply nibble your way through the next battle - with a full stomach and full health. Sounds unfair? It almost is.
But: Only for dark desires
The catch? Only Dark Desire can eat the flesh.
And yes, the game lets you feel what you're doing. You're literally consuming charred body parts - the remains of a people who might have just been fighting alongside you.
This decision is not only macabre, but also morally deep grey. But this is precisely where the strength ofBaldur’s Gate 3: It forces you to make decisions that hurt - in the best sense of the word.
Dwarf meat vs. healing potion
The comparison speaks volumes:
Item |
Healing |
Promotion costs |
Number per round |
Large healing potion |
4–16 HP |
Bonus campaign |
1× |
Roasted dwarf meat |
4–16 HP |
no |
Any |
The difference is clear - and for the right character a brutal advantage.
Not a cheat, but damn close
Of course, roasted dwarf meat is not a cheat in the technical sense. It is not an exploit, not a mod, not a bug. But it is feels so powerful, so flexible, so... wrong.
If you can live with the disgust (or simply ignore it), you get one of the most effective healing items in the whole game. And perhaps a bit of a guilty conscience along with it.
