Civilization 7 - All info on the 2025 DLC roadmap
We have everything you need to know about the upcoming DLCs and expansions for Civ 7.
Almost eight years after the release of Civ 6, the latest installment of the turn-based single-player strategy series was released Sid Meier’s Civilization 7 Beginning of February. And while fans can hardly wait to finally build their own empire, there is already plenty of DLC on the horizon.
As it is in the Civilization-series to release large expansion packs and DLCs even years after the release, fans were already speculating that Civ 7 will receive plenty of additional content - and the now revealed roadmap for the post-launch period confirms exactly that.
Firaxis Games announced the upcoming content in a „Dev Diary“-Post and made it clear that there will be many more updates in 2025 that will keep players busy even after the main game has been completed.

Crossroads of the World - The first paid expansion
With the release of Civilization 7, the game will contain three different historical eras in which you can build and develop your empire.
Each era offers a historically authentic sandbox with matching resources, powers and technologies that reflect the respective epoch.
The first paid expansion, called Crossroads of the World, is divided into two parts - the first will be released at the beginning of March, the second at the end of March.
Crossroads of the World – Release 1:
- New leader: Ada Lovelace
- New civilizations: Carthage and Great Britain
- 4 new natural wonders
Crossroads of the World – Release 2:
- New leader: Simón Bolívar
- New civilizations: Bulgaria and Nepal
Right to Rule - The second paid extension
The second paid expansion will be released as a complete package and brings even more new content. The full details have not yet been announced, but the following has already been confirmed:
- 2 new leaders
- 4 new civilizations
- 4 new wonders of the world
Free content after the launch
While both expansions are chargeable, there will also be a lot of free content after the release, including new events and updates. Here is the current schedule for the free updates:
March:
- New events : Battle of the Natural Wonders, Wonderful Mountains
- New natural wonders: Bermuda Triangle, Mount Everest
- Updates
April - September:
- New events
- New challenges
- Regular updates
Further content is also planned for October, although there are no details yet. However, it is certain that the developers will keep players busy with exciting content until then - just in time for the release of the last free expansion for Civ 7 for the time being in 2025.
