Possible comeback of the Fight Night series from EA

Fight Night Comeback

As announced by internal circles and above all by Mike Shaw, EA is planning the return of the boxing series Fight Night.

Beginning and end of Fight Night

Fight Night was an extremely popular boxing game from EA, which began in 1998 as "Knockout Kings", evolved into "Fight Night" in 2004 and finally ended more than ten years ago.

Right now, however, the signs are more than good that Fight Night could soon be back in the ring...

According to YouTuber Mike Shaw, Fight Night is "back on the table". The upcoming game was originally supposed to be released between EA's UFC games a few years ago. Unfortunately, however, development was paused, briefly resumed and then cancelled completely.

Not yet knocked out.

Reportedly now actively working on releasing a new instalment for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox series again, Mike Shaw said, referring to the latest boxing game trials and installments and EA's look at how the market is developing:

"EA has been keeping a close eye on Steel City Interactive and Undisputed. They're not worried about licences because EA has billions of dollars. They're worried about interest and sales."

However, EA is apparently assuming that there is enough interest, which is why the YouTuber is currently predicting a release of "Fight Night 2027" in probably three years. He comments on this:

"I can tell you after years of back and forth, EA is now at the stage where they are working on how to get the game out. Three to four years is a good time frame. If I had to bet, I'd say we'll see Fight Night 2027, maybe."

However, after so many ups and downs surrounding Fight Night, we should of course still take the news of a potential revival with a great deal of caution and above all wait for official confirmation at some point.
