DayZ - New Frostline DLC

The Czech developer studio Bohemia Interactive recently "merged" the main game of FayZ with the Livonia DLC from 2019 - here you can find out what to expect.

Skyrim developer announces new hunting game

The updated main game now contains the old DLC map as well as its other functions at no extra charge. This is particularly interesting for console gamers, as while PC gamers were able to choose from many professionally modified maps, including tropical, winter and tundra themes, only the maps "Chernarus" and "Livonia" were previously available on the console.

New map with new challenges

Frostline is now introducing the "Sakhal" map as DLC. A wintry map that corresponds to the Russian island of Kamchatka. The harsh, icy landscape has a volcano as its highlight, which rises into the sky surrounded by smaller islands.

Starting on the north coast, the player fights his way south and searches for loot, whereby the most rudimentary things such as food, water and clothing are crucial at the beginning. It is therefore important to look directly for wells and tinned meat, or animals whose meat can be processed - another new feature is that the food must first be defrosted due to the climate on Sakhal.

Animals, diseases and other extensions

The DLC adds foxes, hares and deer to the fauna. However, while the meat of deer can be eaten without hesitation, that of wolves and bears now harbours the risk of disease if consumed.

The 105 square metre map is packed with 346 new sounds to realistically depict snow, wind and animals and draw the player even more into the game.

Textures and building types have been adapted to the climate and the reduced inventory space ensures more realistic item management.

The new heating system

Another new feature is that the new warming system forces players to spend a lot of time near fires to keep warm and dry their equipment. As in real life, it is therefore important to keep the fire burning and to keep it burning in a controlled manner.

The integrated temperature display informs the player about his condition in the hostile climate, which also changes according to the altitude metres he is at.
