Destiny series soon to be expanded with first mobile game

The first-person and loot shooter Destiny celebrated enormous success in 2014, just like its sequel in 2017, which even critical voices regarding poor server connections and a lack of content could not diminish. Nevertheless, there were already reports in 2018 that NetEase had submitted a 100 million dollar offer to game developer Bungie to produce a Destiny-free game.

However, it seems that these plans have now been completely abandoned and, following a leak regarding a potential Destiny mobile game, the recent announcement of the latest project has removed all doubt.

NetEase and Bungie have now released the first trailer for their latest Destiny title.

What's special about it is that the game is not only set in an "alternative Destiny timeline", but Destiny: Rising really is a mobile game, as already suspected.

NetEase describe the game as the "very first epic mobile scifi RPG shooter", even if it is not yet entirely clear from the trailer itself how all this is to be embodied in the game. Nevertheless, "brand new adventures with familiar and new characters" have been announced, along with a "wealth of classic and completely new modes".

It is also currently possible to get an even deeper insight into the game, as a developer preview was released together with the trailer and players can also register for an alpha test that will take place in November.
