EA FC 25: The secret behind the flat shot
The third season of Premier Mode in Counter‑Strike 2 has officially begun! And we’ve summarized for you what’s changing and what to expect.
The return of the low driven shot in EA FC 25 isn't without reason. It seems better than ever—at least if executed correctly. With this guide, we’ll explain how to perform a low driven shot properly and also look at PlayStyles, angles, and why you should integrate it into your game.
Which angles are most effective?
The low driven shot is particularly effective inside the penalty area—especially from angled positions, except for a straight-on shot at goal. If you're running directly toward the keeper, a different shot type is better. But from sharp angles—whether at the near or far post—the low driven is highly effective.
Outside the box, it becomes trickier: only right at the box edge can this shot still work reliably. Beyond that line it often lacks power, since the ball is hit low without much force.
How do PlayStyles affect the low driven?
- An important aspect is the low driven PlayStyle. There are three versions:
- No PlayStyle: less power and accuracy.
- Low Driven: significantly more power, similar precision.
- Low Driven+: maximum power and precision.
You can use the low driven shot without a PlayStyle, but with much less force. The white PlayStyle noticeably increases shot power. The gold PlayStyle turns the low driven into a true weapon, especially for strikers like Harry Kane, who show just how effective it can be.
Why is the low driven so effective?
The low driven shot is fast, hard to predict, and difficult to defend. You can execute it with minimal wind-up, making it perfect for reacting to a goalkeeper’s move. A quick glance, a short tap—and the ball hits the net.
In 1-on-1s with the keeper, the low driven is almost always effective—and it works even without Timed Finish. Timing matters less with this shot because the ball is already flat and precise. Many players shy away from this shot thinking it’s difficult—but in fact it’s much easier than most think.
Low Driven = secret weapon?
Is the low driven still a secret tip? Probably not anymore—but it is still underestimated. Many players still rely on finesse or power shots. Yet in tight penalty-area situations, the low driven is often the safest and most effective choice.
And since we’re on secret tips: technique matters not only in EA FC 25—game quality and fun can hinge on hardware in other titles as well. With a dream rig like our Intel Core i5-14600KF, you can be sure your games run fluidly—because fully utilizing a 1 TB SSD requires serious system performance, not just trick shots.
Players like Rafinha who lack the PlayStyle may have less power—but with good positioning and timing, they can succeed. Still: if your striker has the low driven PlayStyle, you absolutely should use it! It’s a real game‑changer.
