EA FC 26: First leaks on the new map designs
The release of EA Sports FC 26 is approaching – and, as every year, fans are eagerly awaiting not just the new features but also the fresh designs in the Ultimate Team mode. Now, the first leaks have emerged, offering a glimpse at the look of new card formats like Icons, Heroes, TOTW, and more.
Ultimate anticipation: The first card designs for EA FC 26 are here
Even before the official launch, the first images of the new cards have surfaced. For many players, the designs are just as exciting as the ratings or gameplay updates. Let’s take a look at the styles revealed so far – including classic gold cards, reworked TOTW designs, and visually striking Heroes.
Rare Gold Cards: Classic with a refined touch
The golden standard cards remain the cornerstone of every Ultimate Team in FC 26. While the basic design feels familiar, subtle enhancements add a fresh look: a richer gold tone and fine, dynamic waves in the background give the cards a more premium appearance. The changes from last year are subtle but noticeable – a successful update, especially for design enthusiasts.
TOTW Design: Cleaner, sharper, more modern
EA has also clearly refined the Team of the Week design. The distinctive pyramids from FC 25 have been removed, replaced with clean lines, geometric shapes, and bold gold accents. The black background remains, as does the golden frame – but overall, the new design looks more polished, elegant, and puts the player image more clearly in focus. The community appreciates this cleaner look.
Heroes Cards: Purple meets shine and motion
Heroes continue to be visual standouts in 2026. The new design combines a strong purple hue with golden elements and vibrant light reflections. The card feels like a mix of fantasy, Champions League atmosphere, and comic book flair – an energetic style that many fans already love. A design that immediately catches the eye.
Icons: Noble marble meets mystical detail
Icons receive an updated, even more premium look. The marbled background remains but is enhanced with new golden ornaments – including an element that strongly resembles the Eye of Horus. This symbolism gives the card a near-mythical aura. The frame also appears more detailed, emphasizing the Icons' special status in the game.
Pre-Order Icon Upgrade: Monumental and majestic
According to leaks, pre-order customers of the Ultimate Edition can once again look forward to an exclusive Icon version. The design is similar to the standard Icon look but stands out with a massive, gate-like frame – almost like the entrance to a hall of fame. The mix of marble, gold, and monumental presence makes this card an epic collector’s item.
Showdown Cards: Esports meets street style
The new Showdown design is currently receiving a lot of attention. Neon green, metallic lettering, complex textures – EA is going all-in on visual impact here. The silver “SHOWDOWN” banner and the chain-like background convey energy, competition, and final-stage drama. The look strongly resembles modern esports stages – loud, dramatic, intense. The community is already celebrating it as the best design of its kind so far.
