Epic Games expands the Fortnite universe with "Ballistic", a new 5v5 tactical first-person shooter mode reminiscent of games like CS:GO and Valorant.

Game mechanics and objectives

In "Ballistic" two teams compete against each other in turn-based matches. One team tries to win the "Rift Point Device" and defend it, while the other team must prevent this. The teams switch sides after six rounds.

Economic system and equipment

Similar to other tactical shooters, the economy plays a decisive role. Players earn credits through kills, which they can spend on weapons and equipment between rounds. Defeated enemies can be looted and surviving players keep their equipment for the next round, with the exception of consumables.

Intégration des cosmétiques Fortnite

"Ballistic" allows players to use their existing Fortnite cosmetics to customise their characters. Outfits, shoes, backpacks and more can be transferred to the new mode, creating a seamless connection between the two games.

Expansion of the Fortnite universe

With the introduction of "Ballistic" Epic Games aims to further diversify Fortnite and compete with established tactical shooters. This move follows other expansions such as "LEGO Fortnite Brick Life", a social role-playing game that will be released on 12 December 2024.

Future developments

There are indications that Fortnite may also receive an extraction shooter mode in the future, which would further increase the diversity of the game.
