What is “Save the world”?

Save the world is the only paid game mode inFortnite and offers PvE gameplay with story missions, voiced characters and explorable areas. The mode is included in certain skin bundles that rotate regularly in the item shop. These bundles usually offer a skin, a back accessory, a pickaxe, access to Save the world and a quest pack with up to 1,500 V-Bucks as a reward.

As the mode has to be purchased, its player base is smaller than that of the other modes - but it has a lot to offer! After installation, it appears as a separate mode in the main menu. A special interface with many functions awaits you there.

The first choice: Your hero

At the beginning, you will receive a few heroes from a free llama piñata. Later, you can put together your team from several heroes and appoint a commander. Each hero has their own abilities and improves your stats such as stamina, shield and damage against enemies.

Choose the right class

When putting together your team, you decide on one of four classes:

Soldier – Strong ranged fighter with firearm bonuses
Ninja – Fast melee fighter with high mobility
Design engineer – Resilient master builder with defence advantages
Discoverer – Scavenging expert with technological gadgets

The commander determines which class you play. A team can contain heroes from different classes, but your main class remains that of your commander.

1st soldier (ranged combat expert)

Advantages:

Increased damage for consecutive hits on the same target
More damage and better recoil control after eliminations

Skills:

Grenades, continuous fire and intensified attacks
Supportive battle cries for allies

2nd Ninja (melee and agility pro)

Advantages:

Double jump and immunity to falling damage
Faster movement and better armour after eliminations

Skills:

Acrobatic attacks, smoke bombs and throwing stars
Kunai attacks with long range

3. constructor (defence specialist)

Advantages:

Bonus damage after certain attacks
Reinforced structures for better defence

Skills:

Shock waves, KÖDER for distraction and massive hammers
Mountable guns for support

4. explorer (scavenger with technology support)

Advantages:

Can destroy structures to collect materials faster
Improved pickaxe efficiency and increased movement speed

Skills:

Teleport skills, lightning attacks and placeable guns
Electric towers for controlling opponents

Put together your team of heroes

Once you have chosen your class, you can optimise your team:

Focus on one class, unless a hero has universal advantages.
The rarer the hero, the stronger (Common → Uncommon → Rare → Epic → Legendary → Mythical).
The commander should be your strongest hero, as it grants the largest bonuses.
Level up your heroes, to further improve their skills.
Combine suitable team members to strengthen the commander's special abilities.
