Fortnite: Save the world - the 5 elements and weapons
This guide is designed to show you how the 5 elements can be used in Fortnite: Save the world on weapons and how you can utilise this.
In Fortnite's paid PvE mode Save the world there are elements that influence your game. Fire, water, nature, energy and physical all affect the way you play and how your weapons are used - so it's important to be familiar with them and this guide offers you just that.
The five elements
First of all, there are Fortnite: Save the world five different elements:
- Physical, represented by a broken grey wall
- Energy, Represented by a blue energy sphere with orbiting spheres
- Nature, represented by a flash
- Fire, represented by a flame
- Water, represented by three waves
These elements can affect weapons, traps, enemies and even buildings - so it's important to keep an eye on them.
Elements for weapons
Weapons can have one of the five elements. You can see the element when you inspect the weapon or its blueprint.
Why is this important? Certain elements cause different amounts of damage to different enemy types:
Damage table:
Receive physical opponents:
- 100 % damage from each element.
Receive fire opponents:
- 100 % damage from water weapons
- 75 % damage from energy weapons
- 67 % damage from firearms
- 50 % damage from physical weapons
- 25 % damage from natural weapons
Receive water opponents:
- 100 % damage from natural weapons
- 75 % damage from energy weapons
- 67 % damage from water weapons
- 50 % damage from physical weapons
- 25 % damage from fire weapons
Nature opponents receive:
- 100 % damage from fire weapons
- 75 % damage from energy weapons
- 67 % damage from natural weapons
- 50 % damage from physical weapons
- 25 % damage from water weapons
Note:
Physical weapons deal full damage to physical opponents, but only 50% to elemental opponents - they are therefore considered the weakest weapons in the game. However, physical weapons with a legendary perk receive a damage bonus of 44%, while the other elements only have a bonus of 20%.
Energy weapons deal a constant 75% damage against all elements except physical. This makes them a good choice against mixed groups of opponents or when resources are scarce.
If you want to change the element of a weapon, you can do this via the Perk-Recombobulator
- In the Homebase menu, go to „Arsenal“ → „Building plans“ → select the desired weapon → „Improve/Inspect“ → down on „Improve“ → „Change perks“.
Materials for changing the element:
- RE-PERK! – Changes to physical
- FIRE-UP! – Changes to fire
- FROST-UP! – Changes to water
- AMP-UP! – Changes to nature
- Small quantities FIRE-UP!, FROST-UP! and AMP-UP! – Change to energy
