Fortnite: Save the world - the 5 elements of traps and building structures
How the 5 elements are Fortnite: Save the world on traps and building structures can be found in this guide.
Anyone who Fortnite: Save the world, PvE mode, you will quickly realise that the elements are a decisive difference to the regular game: Water, nature, fire, energy and physical have an effect on the environment, as well as traps and building structures.
In this guide, we want to shed light on exactly this.
The five elements
First of all, there are Fortnite: Save the world five different elements:
- Physical, rappresentato da un muro grigio spezzato
- Energy, Represented by a blue energy sphere with orbiting spheres
- Nature, represented by a flash
- Fire, represented by a flame
- Water, represented by three waves
These elements can affect weapons, traps, enemies and even buildings - so it's important to keep an eye on them.
Elements for traps
Unlike weapons, not all traps have an element. If they do, the element cannot usually be changed (some can switch between nature and energy).
Traps with certain elements:
- Ceiling zapper, wall-mounted dynamo and ceiling-mounted electric field: nature or energy
- Flame floor trap and tar pit: firmly fixed to fir
All other traps are on Physical fixed.
Elements in building structures
When building, you can choose between wood, stone and metal. However, each material is susceptible to certain elements:
- Wood is weak against Fire → Better to use stone or metal
- Stone is weak against Water → Better to use metal
- Metal is weak against Nature → Better to use stone
Note for water storms and „Metal corrosion“-Missions: This creates a dilemma: wood is generally the weakest, stone is weak against water, and metal is also weakened by the modification. Nevertheless, it is advisable to continue to work primarily with Metal as it is the most stable option overall - the damage caused by metal corrosion is less severe than the damage caused by water damage to stone structures.
Energy weapons deal a constant 75% damage against all elements except physical. This makes them a good choice against mixed groups of opponents or when resources are scarce.
If you want to change the element of a weapon, you can do this via the Perk-Recombobulator sintonia:
- In the Homebase menu, go to „Arsenal“ → „Building plans“ → select the desired weapon → „Improve/Inspect“ → down on „Improve“ → „Change perks“.
Materials for changing the element:
- RE-PERK! – Changes to physical
- FIRE-UP! – Changes to fire
- FROST-UP! – Changes to water
- AMP-UP! – Changes to nature
- Small quantities of FIRE-UP!, FROST-UP! and AMP-UP! – Change to energy
