FragPunk: Everything about the crossplay feature

Soon you will be able to FragPunk play together with your friends on console and PC - albeit with minor restrictions. We explain how the cross-play system works and what you should look out for.

FragPunk is a fast-paced hero shooter from Bad Guitar Studios that was released on Steam in March. With its eye-catching art style, crazy game mechanics and the so-called shard cards, the game ensures action-packed, varied matches. No two games feel the same - boredom is guaranteed to be a thing of the past.

From 29 April 2025, FragPunk will also be released for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S - and will come with cross-play support.

How crossplay works in FragPunk

Crossplay allows players on PC, PlayStation and Xbox to play together or against each other. In FragPunk, crossplay is activated by default as soon as you start the game. This means that you are automatically matched with players on other platforms.

If you prefer to keep to yourself, you can deactivate crossplay in the settings - particularly useful for console players who don't want to compete against mouse-and-keyboard players.

Equity: A Sensitive Issue

A hotly debated topic is the balance between the platforms - especially in competitive modes. On consoles, FragPunk supports Aim Assist, which makes it easier to aim with the controller. PC players, on the other hand, have to rely on precise manual aiming.
The developers have already commented on this criticism:

„We understand your concerns about crossplay and Aim Assist. For us, a fair balance between input devices is a top priority.“
According to Bad Guitar Studios, they are working on separate settings for Aim Assist when mixing platforms. In addition, some game modes could disable crossplay to ensure fair matchmaking.

Gaming with friends - without platform limits

Whether ranked or casual match: With the cross-play system, you can easily add friends on other platforms and play together. No more back-and-forth - you don't have to coordinate who plays on which platform. Simply invite friends, get started and have fun.
