Marvel Rivals Saison 1 – Patch Notes
The “first” Season 1 of Marvel Rivals is finally here and with it comes plenty of updates to the game - here's everything you need to know about the S1 patch notes.
Looking at the patch notes for the first season, it quickly becomes clear that NetEase is focussing on the ballancing of the MMO shooter and wanted to nerf characters that were previously considered OP.

Vanguard
Captain America
Steve gains improved survivability to enter and exit battles more frequently.
- Reduction of the delay time for shield recovery after „Living legend“ from 3s to 2s.
- Decay time from „Freedom rush“ reduced from 12s to 10s.
- Increase in basic health from 650 to 675.
- Reducing energy costs for the ultimate capability „Freedom Charge“ from 3400 to 3100.
- Reduction of additional self-healing per second after use from 110 to 100.
Doctor Strange
The threat range is reduced and the defence window of the „Sorcerer Supreme “ extended.
- Damage waste for „Whirl of madness“ and „Gamma vortex“ added: Start at 5 metres and reduce to 70 % at 8 metres.
- Recovery speed of the shield value after using „Shield of the Seraphim“ slightly reduced (from 80/s to 70/s).
Thor
Thor gains slightly improved survivability and an increased success rate for his ultimate ability.
- Increase in basic health from 500 to 525.
- Immunity to control effects during the ultimate ability „God of thunder“ added.
Hulk
Dr Banner was dominant. A reduced sustained combat ability brings him more in line with other Vanguard heroes.
- Shield value of the „Indestructible guard“ of Hero Hulk reduced from 250 to 200.
Venom
With increased survivability and the threat of its ultimate ability, the symbiote will spread terror.
- Bonus health ratio of „Symbiotic resistance“ per health lost increased from 1 to 1.2.
- Base damage from „Feast of the abyss“ (ultimate ability) increased from 40 to 50.
Duelist
Black Panther
T’Challas Survivability in combat is slightly reduced.
- Additional health by refreshing „Vibranium sign“ with „Ghost blow“ reduced from 40 to 30.
- Upper limit for additional health reduced from 120 to 75.
Black Widow
Natasha needs optimisation and a slight increase in threat from her ultimate ability.
- Range of the first effect of „Shadow dancer“ increased from 3m to 5m radius.
- Time to fully recover from „Fleet feet“ shortened from 12s to 4s.
- Time for maximum charging of „Electro-plasma explosion“ (ultimate ability) is reduced from 1s to 0.6s.
Hawkeye
The medium to long damage range is reduced, the threat radius is reduced and the melee resistance is slightly increased.
- Scattering angle between „Explosive arrows“ slightly reduced.
- Trigger distance of the passive ability „Focus of the archer“ lowered from 60m to 40m.
- Maximum additional damage of the passive ability reduced from 80 to 70.
Hela
The goddess of death is slightly weakened.
- Basic health reduced from 275 to 250.
Magik
The threat posed by their ultimate ability is increased.
- Damage from „Dark incursion“ in the „Darkchild“-form increased from 115 to 135.
Moon Knight
A slight increase in the threat posed by his ultimate ability is made.
- Number of claws that can be „Hand of Khonshu“ (ultimate ability) are increased from 10 to 14.
- Explosion radius of each claw increased from 4m to 5m.
Strategist
Cloak & Dagger
Ty and Tandy receive improved healing abilities and an expansion of the area of effect of their ultimate ability.
- Decay time from „Dagger Storm“ reduced from 15s to 12s.
- Number of jumps in „Eternal bond“ (ultimate ability) increased from 3 to 4.
Jeff the land shark
The range of his ultimate ability is adjusted and the healing ability is increased.
- Range from „It's Jeff!“ (ultimate ability) from a 10m sphere to a 10m radius and 5m high cylinder field.
- Healing from „Splash of joy“ increased from 140/s to 150/s.
Luna Snow
While we have enjoyed her impressive healing abilities, her ultimate ability has been adjusted to prevent abuse of her healing abilities.
- Interval for the change between healing and damage in „Fate of the two worlds“ increased from 0.1s to 0.5s.
Mantis
Mantis will be less mobile, limiting her support through movement.
- Movement boost through „Nature's favour“ (passive) is reduced from 2.5m/s to 1.5m/s.
Rocket Raccoon
Rocket receives an improvement to his healing abilities.
- Healing through „ Repair mode “ increased from 60/s to 70/s.
Team-up skills
Hawkeye – Black Widow
To reduce Hawkeye's dominance, his seasonal bonus will be reduced.
- Season bonus for Hawkeye reduced from 20 % to 15 %.
Hela – Thor – Loki
Hela's overwhelming power is also reduced.
- Saisonbonus von Hela von 20 % auf 15 % reduziert.
Luna Snow – Namor
The threat from Namor „Frozen brood“ is increased.
- Damage from „Frozen brood“ increased from 25 to 27.
- Slowing effect on enemies hit increased from 25 % to 30 %.
- Damage in berserk state from „ Frozen brood “ increased from 16 to 18.
Rocket Raccoon – The Punisher – Winter Soldier
One of Rocket's best tools will be available more often!
- Decay time from „Ammunition invention“ reduced from 45s to 40s.
Scarlet Witch – Magneto
The damage capability of this father-daughter team-up ability is increased.
- Projectile damage from „Metallic fusion“ increased from 55 to 60.
- Field damage from „Metallic fusion“ increased from 30 to 35.
Thor – Storm – Captain America
The damage capability of Storm's contribution to this team-up ability is improved.
- Decay time from „Charged storm“ reduced from 20s to 15s.
