Master strike in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 - How to learn the technique
The master stroke is as deadly as it is important in KCD2. However, learning it (again) is not that easy.
Experienced players know: The master stroke - also known as „masterly stroke“ or „Meisterhau“ is one of the strongest combat techniques in Kingdom Come: Deliverance and can make the difference between victory and defeat. In KCD2, however, Heinrich must first learn this skill again.
Why the master stroke is so important
Whether you're new to the world of KC or have played through the first game, you'll quickly realise (or already know) that the Master Strike is one of the most effective fighting techniques. Due to Heinrich's injuries in KCD2, however, he has forgotten it. Fortunately, you can learn it again relatively early on in the game.
Here you can learn the master stroke in KCD2
The master stroke is one of the most important sword techniques and makes fighting much easier. Once learnt, it allows you to defeat even well-armoured opponents without much effort - because the counterattack cannot be blocked.
After you and Hans go your separate ways, you will meet a beggar woman who tells you about Kater. This will unlock the quest to find him. If you missed this encounter, it's no problem - you can still go straight to him.
Your journey begins in Troskowitz and takes you westwards. First you pass Zelejow, but your destination lies further west - beyond Bozena and Pavlena's house, deep in the forest, where there is a nomad camp.
There you will find a well-known training ring. If you don't arrive in the middle of the night, you'll find Kater right there. Talk to him, learn a few combos, show off your skills and ask him to teach you the master stroke.
