Minecraft: Secret tips & tricks for your next server session
Although Minecraft has been around for well over ten years, the game is not only still extremely popular, it is also still full of secrets and special tricks that not everyone knows about. Here we have compiled a list of these tricks that you can use on your next round of Minecraft. “the square” you should definitely give it a try.
Chicks are bigger than you think
When you look at a Minecraft chick like this, it looks pretty tiny at first - less than half the size of a regular block, to be precise. However, their actual hitbox is much larger, which means that if you're building a small chicken farm and want to protect your budding egg-layers with a fence, for example, you don't have to be so careful to erect as small a fence as possible.
For your private henhouse, it is enough to bear in mind that chicks - whether they look like it or not - cannot pass through gaps half a block high. So even if your barrier actually contains gaps half a block high, it will be impossible for your animals to escape.
Detect damage even without mods
Sure, there are third-party mods that allow you to see exactly how much damage you've dealt to an enemy - but with a little focus, you can also see the damage without having to display it this way.
When you attack a mob, you can see how it loses heart particles. However, these are not purely decorative or simply to make you realise that you have caused damage - the heart particles actually correspond to the damage done. With a close look at the lost particles, you can see exactly how much damage you have already done and how long it will be before you strike down your opponent.
Harmless pillboxes
Pillagers can be an annoying hurdle if you want to have a look around their villages and maybe even claim one or two chests as your own.
However, if you are clever, you can ensure that the crossbowmen quickly cease to pose a threat and can only stand idly by and watch the raid: Just like the players themselves, the pillagers' crossbows can break after too many shots. So if you simply dodge enough bolts, you will eventually find yourself facing a harmless villager who no longer seems so dangerous.
Activate pirate language
As one of the most popular games in the world, Minecraft is of course also available in a wide variety of languages and one of them is even “Pirate”.
To switch the game to pirate language, all you have to do is enter the following command in the search bar of your recipe book “excitedz” to enter.
This trick is used to translate texts into an amusing buccaneer variant of English, in which swords, for example, are translated as “cutlasses” hot. However, this change of language has no further impact on the game or the gameplay.
These are just a few examples of the many, many secrets, tips and tricks that still lie dormant in the depths of Minecraft, unseen by most, waiting for you to try them out - have fun!
