R.E.P.O. - how to defeat every level 3 monster part 1

REPO_so_besiegt_ihr_jedes_Level_3_Monster_Teil_01
If you venture into R.E.P.O., prepare yourself for a whole host of different monsters, all of which can be defeated in their own way. Here are all the ways you can defeat the first half of the monsters on level 3.

R.E.P.O.  is an online co-op horror game in which you and up to five other players search for precious objects to sell. But along the way you will encounter various nasty monsters. If you don't manage to reach the required quota, you have to start all over again.

You only have the Voice chat with proximity function, to find yourself in these halls populated by deadly monsters... But how do you even survive?

We take a look at the first half of the monsters at level 3 and look at how to defeat them.

Headman

The Headman is a being that appears as a giant, disembodied human head and floats silently through the environment.

When patrolling, it makes a characteristic clacking sound of its teeth.

As soon as it spots a player directly, it emits a piercing scream and rushes at its target at high speed.

Unlike many other monsters, the Headman can target players even when they are hiding under furniture or behind cover - making it particularly dangerous in confined areas.

Escape tip:
It is risky, but a Sliding in the squat under the headman can occasionally disorientate him - even if you probably take a hit in the process.

Effective tactics:

  • Weapons with strong recoil, such as the baseball bat, are extremely effective.

  • A well-timed strike can knock the headman to the ground and open up a short window of opportunity for follow-up attacks before he stands up again.

Robe

Robe is a monster that silently patrols the area until it discovers a player.

Although it moves silently, it occasionally emits loud, baby-like cries - an eerie signal that it is nearby.

As soon as the robe spots a target, it makes a shrill noise to signal its aggression and begins its pursuit.

The affected player's screen darkens - a clear warning sign that they are being chased.

If the robe manages to catch up, it emits a piercing scream that can be fatal. 100 damage pointscaused.

As it moves, the Robe leaves a subtle trail of dark particles - an important visual cue to locate or avoid it.

Players should pay particular attention to, no eye contact with his mask Otherwise, the Robe will immediately rush towards them at high speed.

Strategies:

  • If you hear its characteristic cry, scan your surroundings immediately - that could be your only warning.

  • If the robe is not provoked, it is slower than a walking player, so it is possible to keep your distance.

  • Even if he is angry, you can still escape him by avoiding eye contact and not turning round to face him.

  • If you are discovered, you should immediately break the line of sight, before you hide - otherwise the Robe tracks your last known position and performs a crouching jump attack to drive you out of cover.

Huntsman

Der Huntsman is an opponent who resembles a blind man and uses a rifle as both a walking stick and a deadly weapon.

It relies entirely on sound to locate its targets.

If it hears a noise - be it from a player or a dropped object - it immediately fires in the corresponding direction.

A direct hit causes 100 damage and immediately paralyses the player.

Tactics:

  • You can use sound-generating objects to direct his shots in a different direction.

  • If you intend to grab him, you should first provoke him into firing a shot - he will then be disarmed for a short time and therefore safer to grab.

  • There is also a trick to anaesthetise him:
Grab either its upper or lower part and quickly spin it around in the air to briefly incapacitate it.

This makes it easy to switch off.

    Hint:
This trick can also work without prior shot baiting, but is much riskier - especially without range upgrades.
