Skyrim developer announces new hunting game

Nate Purkeypile, the former developer of Skryim, has announced his new project The Axis Unseen, a hunting game with bow and arrow and lots of magical elements.

In The Axis Unseen, you take on the role of a hunter who is on the hunt for various monsters from folklore in order to hunt them down. But the whole thing is a far cry from the simplicity familiar from other games. Here you can't just beat up the creatures until they are finished off.

Every move, no matter how small, must be well thought out, because the monsters not only detect you by sound - they can also sense your odour, depending on the wind. So you have to sneak up on them skilfully to have a chance of surprising them.

Just waiting for a monster to cross your path? Forget it.

You have to actively track them down by looking closely and searching for clues such as footprints or traces of blood. It's a real challenge, but that's what makes it so appealing.

Of course, you are not travelling unarmed. Your faithful companion is a magic bow with which you can fire different types of arrows. Whether it's a burning arrow or one that slows down the monsters - you have a whole range of options, some of which can even be combined.

Das wohl interessanteste Feature von The Axis Unseen ist jedoch der einzigartige Soundtrack und das HUD. Alle wichtigen Informationen wie Geräusche oder Windrichtung werden nicht einfach in einer Ecke des Bildschirms angezeigt, sondern sind direkt auf deinen Händen oder deiner Ausrüstung sichtbar.

And the soundtrack? It really packs a punch! Clifford Meyer, who is responsible for the music, has gone all out and delivered a loud, intense soundtrack. Nate Purkeypile has described the game as "heavy metal horror" - and Meyer has taken this brief literally.
