The "father" of Final Fantasy releases a unique looking game
Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi rereleased Fantasian, an RPG that impresses with a truly unique style.
Following its original release via Apple Arcade in 2021, Mistwalker, a studio founded by the "Final Fantasy"-creator Hironobu Sakaguchi, Fantasian is now being re-released in collaboration with Square Enix for PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, and the Xbox series.
Under the new name "Fantasian Neo Dimension" the game is a colourful interdimensional journey to rediscover lost memories.
Without memories in a strange world
In the game, you take on the role of Leo, who wakes up without memories in a strange land full of machines. After he discovers that a virus called „Mechteria“ When the machines come back to haunt him, he and his friends embark on an adventure full of turn-based battles to regain his memories and rid the world of the Mechteria virus.
The game is characterised by its classic RPG structure, which is enhanced by a few small deviations from the regular formula. For example, several enemies can be targeted at the same time during battles - whether they are standing in a straight line, in an arc or being hit by a large-scale AoE attack. To save time and increase the fun of the game, enemy encounters can also be „collected“ and several opponents can be defeated in a single battle.
A visual novelty
The game's stunning aesthetic is created through a blend of hand-crafted dioramas and computer-generated graphics, creating a breathtakingly unique style that blurs the lines between digital graphics and real-world craftsmanship.
The new release also features new Japanese and English voice-overs, a new difficulty level, a significantly improved (4K) resolution and the option to switch between the original battle music and songs from the "Final Fantasy" change franchise.
The game has been available for all current consoles since 5 December.
