Buy a water-cooled gaming PC - Better cooling performance for your gaming system
A water-cooled PC uses water or another liquid to cool the internal components. This includes the CPU and/or GPU. Water cools better and more quietly than air to regulate the temperatures of key components. This enables higher performance and longevity of the hardware.
A water-cooled system consists of several hardware components:
- Water cooler (water block): It is mounted directly on the component to be cooled (e.g. CPU or GPU) and dissipates the heat into the cooling water.
- Pump: It moves the water and keeps the speed constant. Radiator: This is where the heat is transferred to the air. Radiators can have different sizes and shapes, depending on the amount of heat that needs to be dissipated.
- Tubes: They connect the various components of the cooling circuit with each other and enable the fluid to be transported.
- Fans are attached to the radiator. They ensure that air flows over the cooling fins. This dissipates the heat. The expansion tank ensures that the cooling system always has enough liquid and that air bubbles can be removed.
Water-cooled PCs are more expensive and more complicated to install than air-cooled systems, but offer better cooling and less noise. They are ideal for gaming PCs, workstations and servers where high temperatures and noise are a problem.
Water-cooled gaming PCs offer a number of advantages over conventional air-cooled systems:
- Water cools better than air, as it can absorb and dissipate heat more efficiently. This keeps temperatures low. It affects important parts such as the CPU and GPU (Geforce RTX or Radeon). This improves the performance and service life of the hardware.
- Water-cooled systems are quieter as they require fewer fans to keep the components cool. The result is less noise.
- This is important for gamers. Gamers like a quiet environment. They want to have an intense gaming experience.
- Water-cooled gaming PCs can keep the CPU (e.g. Intel Core i7 or Intel Core i9, AMD Ryzen 5 - 9) and GPU (e.g. NVIDIA GeForce or AMD Radeon) cooler, allowing for higher overclocking. Overclocking improves the performance of components beyond their factory specifications for better gaming.
- Beautiful gaming PCs with water cooling often have transparent hoses, colourful cooling liquids and illuminated parts. This gives the gaming PC a distinctive and eye-catching look.
- Space-optimised: A water-cooled gaming PC can be designed smaller due to the reduced need for extensive heat sinks and fans. This can be particularly useful in smaller enclosures where space is limited.
Gaming PCs with water cooling are more expensive and more complex to set up and maintain than other computers. There is also a risk of damage to the PC components in the event of incorrect installation or leaks. However, gaming PCs with water cooling offer maximum performance, quiet operation and attractive looks for enthusiasts.
